About
Samantha Dineen is an experienced, qualified CIMA accountant with a successful career within major retail, distribution and manufacturing organisations.
I started my profession with Hanson plc as a manufacturing accountant, where I gained a sound knowledge of both financial and management accounting techniques. During my career with the company I was a finalist in the Hanson Young Achievers Award and qualified as an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. I then moved into Supply Chain working with operational managers within NFT Distribution Ltd, in both primary and secondary warehousing and distribution networks. I progressed throughout the business to the position of Financial Controller, responsible for all areas of financial and management accounting. My career then continued in retail, working as Logistics Finance Manager for B&Q plc, managing distribution contractors. During this period I was able to expand my knowledge of supply chain within a retail environment.
Due to my experience within a variety of industries, I identified a need to develop the financial skills of non-financial managers. In 2001 I moved into Learning & Development and started my business, Finance Ability. I have since been successfully developing and delivering tailored programmes for non-financial managers, to assist companies in developing the skills of their people in this area.
I am an energetic and highly motivated individual, who is passionate about empowering non -financial managers and taking the ‘fear out of finance!’
